The Ambiguous Moment;
...is a theory concerning the relation between cinema and photography, it is the core focus throughout the dissertation and essentially embodies the thrust of his analysis.
The square design is the book cover graphic and relates to the 25 frames per second, (the frame rate film is shot at). The odd one out depicts this ‘Ambiguous Moment,’ when a single frame is drawn from those original 25, resulting, ultimately in what Gregory Crewdson aims to achieve with his photography.
