Time to get this brief started

I have chosen to have a go at the 5x 10sec idents.

I think firstly it will be far less stressful working with 5 separate outcomes rather than one long one, which I will otherwise undoubtably spend the whole of my holiday looking at, and probably end up ruining.

Five is a good number, things often work well in odd numbers and with such a number as 5 there is a real chance to play with the continuity of the outcomes. To do this I thought it would be a good idea to focus in on a context. For example a specific channel. i.e. Film4 or Sky Movies. This way I can analyze existing idents that covered a genre or a specific director even, and create a set of outcomes that strengthen each other and create a neat little package of idents.

After thinking, not for much time to be honest, I thought it would be really fun to focus on the old Westerns such as A Fistful of Dollars and The Good the Bad and the Ugly. (Sergio Leone).

All these films are tied together by a certain essence. Also they all have very strong iconic scenes, objects, characters and especially music. Just from an initial few thoughts, it is clear that there is going to be plenty of opportunity to play with these iconic elements to formulate my Five continuity based idents.

SO in short, I am going to create Five Ten second idents for a Sergio Leone's Spaghetti Western season for a specific channel.
